FAQs

That depends on the height and size of the load you plan to carry. Flatbed Trailers are better suited for general use with a variety of cargo heights, especially those with normal heights. If you have a particularly tall or heavy load, a step-deck trailer is the better choice as it sits lower and will help you to not exceed height restrictions.

The best wood for a Flat Deck Trailer tends to be wood that is durable, strong, and resistant to various environmental conditions. Typically, pressure-treated lumber is the best option as it has a chemical finish that resists decay, insects, and moisture and can handle heavier loads.

The weight limit of a Flat Deck Trailer will depend on its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) which varies depending on the trailer’s construction, size, axle configuration, and intended use.  All our trailers have a downloadable spec sheet so you can find out the maximum weight capacity that it’s able to carry.

First, calculate the dimensions and weight of the loads you plan to carry on your trailer. You’ll want to ensure that your trailer’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeds the weight of your cargo. Also, the Trailer Deck should be long and wide enough to accommodate your cargo and have some additional space left over.
